Terms of Service
Last updated: 25 August 2026
1. Who We Are and What These Terms Cover
These terms are between you and Just Summit Ltd (company number 15449136). They cover the Summit mobile app and services, the Just Summit website, support, product updates, subscriptions, and Just Summit Headphones presales. By creating a Summit account, using the app or services, using the website, or placing a preorder, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use those services.
2. App Licence and Apple Terms
Subject to these terms, we give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Summit for lawful personal or internal business purposes. When you download Summit through Apple, Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to the licensed app. These terms additionally govern your Summit account, content, processing, subscriptions, support, and services.
3. Accounts and Security
You must provide accurate account information, protect your sign-in credentials, and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account unless it results from our failure to use reasonable care.
4. Local Recording and Optional Cloud Services
Summit is designed to save completed recordings locally before any authorised processing or upload decision. Local recording is limited by your device storage, permissions, and operating system. Cloud processing, synchronisation, sharing, and other online features may require your choice, a network connection, an eligible subscription, and available quota. You remain responsible for keeping any separate backup you require.
5. Ownership of Your Content
You retain ownership of audio, text, images, prompts, edits, and other material you submit to Summit (your “User Content”). As between you and Just Summit Ltd, you also own the transcripts, summaries, highlights, Actions, exports, and other results generated for you, subject to any rights in material supplied by somebody else. These terms do not transfer ownership of your User Content to us.
6. Limited Permission to Operate Summit
You give Just Summit Ltd a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to receive, host, store, copy, convert, transmit, process, transcribe, analyse, create requested results from, display, share, export, back up, and delete your User Content only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, support, and improve the Summit services you use or request, comply with law, and exercise our rights under these terms. This permission allows us to use contracted service providers for those limited purposes and to follow your sharing and export instructions.
This permission lasts while the relevant User Content is stored or needed to provide the requested service. It ends when that content is deleted from our active systems, except for limited backup, security, dispute, or legal-retention copies that cannot reasonably be removed immediately. We do not acquire a right to sell your recordings or use them for third-party advertising.
7. Your Recording and Content Responsibilities
You confirm that you own your User Content or have the permissions, licences, consents, notices, and other lawful basis needed for us to receive and process it as you instruct. You are responsible for complying with recording, privacy, confidentiality, intellectual property, employment, and other laws that apply to you and to the people or material in a recording.
You must not record, upload, process, share, or export material when doing so would be unlawful, infringe another person's rights, breach a duty of confidence, or expose content you are not permitted to use. Where consent or notice is required, you must obtain or provide it before recording or processing begins.
8. Automated Results
Transcripts, summaries, speaker labels, Actions, Daily Memories, and answers are generated automatically and may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for your purpose. Review important results against the original audio. Summit is not a medical, legal, financial, emergency, or professional-advice service, and you must not rely on it as one.
9. Acceptable Use
You must not use Summit to:
- break the law or violate another person's rights;
- record or monitor people unlawfully or deceptively;
- upload malware or interfere with the service or another account;
- bypass access controls, quotas, subscriptions, or security measures;
- attempt to obtain another user's private content or credentials; or
- resell or exploit the service except under a separate written agreement.
10. Subscriptions, Trials, and App Store Billing
Paid Summit plans are offered through Apple using the price, billing period, introductory-offer eligibility, and renewal terms displayed before purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled through your Apple ID settings within Apple's required cancellation period. Apple handles payment details, refunds, and billing. Restore Purchases can be used to refresh an eligible entitlement.
Ending a trial or subscription can stop new paid processing and cloud work, but previously generated user-owned results remain readable as described in the app and Privacy Policy. Cloud audio may enter the disclosed exit and deletion period after access expires.
11. Privacy and Service Providers
Our Privacy Policy explains how Summit handles account, recording, transcript, subscription, analytics, support, retention, and deletion data. Depending on the feature you request, contracted providers may process data to supply authentication, storage, transcription, AI processing, analytics, diagnostics, or subscription services.
12. Just Summit Intellectual Property
The Summit software, Just Summit name and branding, website, product materials, interfaces, and related intellectual property are owned by Just Summit Ltd or its licensors. Except for the limited licence in these terms, no rights in them are transferred to you.
13. Service Changes, Availability, and Termination
We may improve, replace, suspend, or discontinue features, subject to applicable consumer law and any paid commitment. Mobile devices, networks, operating systems, and third-party services can affect availability. You may stop using Summit and request account deletion at any time. We may restrict or terminate access for a serious or repeated breach, security risk, unlawful use, or where required by law.
14. Headphones Presales
Just Summit Headphones remain in presale. Specifications, features, production timing, and delivery estimates may change before shipment. The current full-payment and deposit prices, payment schedule, estimated delivery window, and refund terms are those shown at checkout and in the Refund Policy. Stripe processes website payments, and we do not store complete card details.
15. Disclaimers
We provide Summit with reasonable care and skill. Subject to your statutory rights, we do not promise that every recording, automated result, synchronisation, integration, or third-party service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Nothing in these terms excludes a guarantee, remedy, or other right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
16. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited. To the extent permitted by law, Just Summit Ltd is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss caused by unlawful recording or content you were not entitled to use, or loss caused by failing to keep a backup where Summit clearly advised that one was needed.
17. Governing Law, Changes, and Contact
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you keep any mandatory rights and may also be entitled to bring proceedings where you live. We may update these terms when the service or law changes and will update the date above and provide additional notice where required.
Questions about these terms can be sent to hello@justsummit.co.
